We’ve expanded our tomato offerings, growing to nearly 150 different varieties. Our many heirlooms are favorites among our customers. Visit our roadside farm stand and check them out.

1884

Dark pink heirloom.  Juicy, old-fashioned taste.  Large producer.

Abe Lincoln

Award-winning, American classic, large, red, heirloom cluster tomato.  Delicious and disease resistant.

Ace 55

Large, deep red fruit, low acid content.  Good canning tomato.  Crack-resistant.  Determinate.  Mid-season.

Amazon Chocolate

Very good tasting variety.  Ripens early and produces plenty of 8 to 12 ounce fruits all season long.  Dark-colored, beautiful, blemish-free fruit.  Full-flavored with great texture and taste.  Perfect sandwich tomato.

Amish Paste (paste)

Dates back to the turn of the century.  Best for sauces and canning.  Large 8 oz. deep red, paste type fruits with “real” tomato flavor.  Excellent paste tomato.  Main season.

Amish Gold Slicer

75 Days. Pretty, 3 to 5-inch tomatoes.  Vines are prolific and hardy.  Sweet and rich with a little tinge of acid. Excellent sauce tomato.

Ananas Noir

“Black Pineapple.”  Sweet, rich taste.  Abundance of large, dark purple fruits averaging up to 1-1/2 lbs. Green-shouldered fruits deliver a complex, hearty tomato taste with smoky and acidic undertones.  Makes a great tomato sauce.

Aunt Ruby’s German Green

Green heirloom beefsteak with touch of yellow streaks.  Spicy, sweet taste. 

Barbados

Pink, 6 oz. fruit.  Prolific.  Bears fruit till frost.  Great salad tomato.

Beam’s Yellow Pear

Sweet and delicious!  Great choice for a patio or planter garden.  Good salad or snacking tomato.

Better Boy

Hybrid.  Familiar, red garden staple.  Noted for its superior flavor. Fruit averages 12 ounces.

Better Bush (bush)

Hybrid.  Perfect for large containers or small gardens.  Yield good-sized, 8 oz. fruit with real tomato flavor. Stocky plants grow 3 to 4 ft. tall with an upright habit, making staking needs minimal.  Compact indeterminate.  68 days.

Berkeley Tie Dye Green

Large 8 to 12 oz. beefsteak fruits the color of port wine with metallic green stripes.  Sweet flavor.

Berkeley Tie Dye Pink

Large 8 to 12 oz. beefsteak fruits the color of port wine with metallic pink stripes.  Sweet flavor.

Big Beef

Hybrid.  Colossal fruit size and yield, uniformity and a full spectrum of disease resistance.  Smooth fruits are globe-shaped, weighing 9 oz. to one pound. 

Big Boy

Hybrid. 10 ounces, many reaching 1 pound or more.  Produce all summer long.  Mid-season.

Big Pink

Heirloom. Big Pink is a potato-leaved variety, which means its parentage is probably from Brandywine, Tiffen Mennonite, or German Johnson. Thin skinned, excellent flavor, better than average disease resistance.

Big Rainbow

Moderate to large crops of 1 to 2 pound, rib-shouldered, bi-colored beefsteak tomatoes with gold flesh and beautiful red streaks running throughout.  Very juicy and fruity sweet.  Good disease resistance.  Great for slicing.  Mid-season.

Black Beauty
Earthy, sweet flavor with a little bit of tang.  Perfect for slicing.

Black Cherry (cherry)

Reddish-purple skinned cherry tomato.  Dark red flesh.   Sweet and juicy flavor.   Produces all summer long.  Mid-season.

Black Krim

Deep, dark red with heavy green shoulders.  Interior is a reddish green color.  Heirloom from the Crimean peninsula of Russia.  10 to 12 oz. fruits.  Flavor is rich, earthy, almost smoky.  Mid-season.

Black From Tula

One of the largest Russian black tomatoes.  Award-winning.  Delicious, slightly-salty, smoky-fruit flavors. Outstanding!

Blue Beech (paste)

Heirloom sausage-type paste tomato.  Excellent canning tomato with thick, meaty flesh and few seeds; perfect for homemade sauce.  Tastes great sliced and eaten fresh too.  Resists disease and blossom end rot better than others.

Blue Berries (cherry)

Produces an avalanche of cherry size, amethyst colored clusters. A nice balanced tomato flavor with a perfect amount of sweetness and juiciness.  Young fruits when exposed to sunlight have indigo-purple skin from the pigment Anthocyanin, naturally occurring in blueberries, which is a powerful and beneficial antioxidant. The fruits are ready to harvest when the skin turns bright rosy red on the bottom, shoulders are indigo shaded and the fruit is soft to the touch.

Blue Beauty

Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces plentiful yields of 6-8 oz., slightly flattened beefsteak tomatoes with gorgeous, deep blue-black shoulders making this unique among slicing types. Sunburn and crack resistance. Outstanding anti-oxidant content!

Blue Cream Berries (cherry)

(AKA Indigo Blue Berries)  Sprawling plants yield big quantities of 1/2", dark purple color (dark enough to call it "black") indicating that it is rich in anthocyanins. When fully ripe these tomatoes turn red where the fruit was shaded and purple/black where the fruit has received the most sunshine. Luscious, sweet and flavorful fruit.

Blush (Artisan series)

Two-inch long cherry tomato.  Tropical, sweet flavor.  Pink blush over yellow background.  Mid-season.

Bonny Best

Heirloom variety.  Strong indeterminate vine grows to 4-6’ with a 20-24” spread.  Produces firm round tomatoes in clusters of medium-sized 8 oz., deep red fruit that are uniform in size.  Excellent, old-fashioned tomato flavor to use for canning or slicing.  

Brad’s Black Heart

Exceptional heart-shaped tomato.  Big, robust flavor.  Disease resistant.

Brad’s Atomic Grape (grape)

Elongated fruit with large grape-sized clusters.  Lavender and purple stripes, turning to olive-green, red, and brown/blue stripes when fully ripe.   Fruits hold well on the vine or off.  Olive green interior is blushed with red when dead-ripe.  Crack-resistant.  Extraordinarily sweet!

Brad’s Crazy Cherry (cherry)

Regular-leaf, elongated cherry tomato.  Each bract can hold as many as 24 tomatoes! Very good producer. Indeterminate.

Brandywine, Black

Potato leaf.  Dates to the 1920s.  Extra large in size.  Deep, earthy and sweet flavor.  Superior for salsa and cooking.

Brandywine, Red

Authentic regular leaf strain of Red Brandywine.  Originated in Chester County, PA in 1885.  Medium-sized, 8 to 12 oz. round, smooth red fruit.  High yields.  Mid-season.

Brandywine, Yellow

Large potato-leaf plants are very sturdy and deep green.

Brown’s Yellow Giant

Kentucky family heirloom.  Yields beautiful 1 lb. tomatoes with excellent, tropical fruity flavors.

Buffalo Heart

Yield lots of 16 oz., rosy-pink, heart-shaped fruits with firm flesh and packed with good flavor.

Bumblebee Pink/Sunrise/Purple (cherry)

Pink with yellow stripes, yellow with red stripes or purple striped with metallic green.  Round, 1 1/2-in., cherry-sized, crack- resistant fruits.  Mid-season.

Bush Goliath (bush type)

Flavorful and sweet with great yields of 4-inch fruit, this is one of the best early tomatoes. Topping off at 4 feet, it was developed for growing in limited spaces and on patios.  Resistance to verticillium, root-knot nematode, and fusarium race 1.

Campari

Hybrid.  Heavy producer of round, to deep round, 2 oz. fruits that are uniformly red inside and out with a long shelf life.  Tolerant to early blight and highly resistant to late blight.  Indeterminate.

Carbon

14 oz., purple-brown, tomatoes.  One of the darkest black tomatoes with delicious, flavors.  Winner "Best Tasting" award.

Celebrity

Hybrid.  AAS (All American Selection) Award Winner.  Medium sized, globe-shaped fruits.  Crack-resistant.  Average 7 oz. fruit.  Semi-determinate.  Mid-season.

Chef’s Choice Orange Hybrid

Attractive orange beefsteak.  Eight-11 oz. fruits are low in acid and have very good flavor and texture.  High yielding.  Earlier and more productive than most orange beefsteaks.

Chef’s Choice Yellow Hybrid

Attractive yellow beefsteak.  Eight-11 oz. fruits are low in acid and have very good flavor and texture.  High yielding.  Earlier and more productive than most yellow beefsteaks.

Chef’s Choice Red Hybrid

Attractive red beefsteak.  Eight-11 oz. fruits are low in acid and have very good flavor and texture.  High yielding.  Earlier and more productive than most red beefsteaks.

Chef’s Choice Pink Hybrid

Attractive pink beefsteak.  Eight-11 oz. fruits are low in acid and have very good flavor and texture.  High yielding.  Earlier and more productive than most pink beefsteaks.

Chef’s Choice Black Hybrid

Attractive black beefsteak.  Eight-11 oz. fruits are low in acid and have very good flavor and texture.  High yielding.  Earlier and more productive than most black beefsteaks.

Cherokee Chocolate

Mahogany-colored version of Cherokee Purple.  Average 10-16 oz. fruit.  Great productivity.

Cherokee Green

Thought to be "best tasting" of all the green tomatoes. 16 oz. tomato is amber green with a yellowish hue when ripe.

Cherokee Purple

Medium pink-purple fruits that appear brown in color. Average 8 to 12 oz. fruits are round to oblate, with no cracking. Exhibits tolerance to mild drought as well as to common diseases. Mid-season.

Cherry Bomb (cherry)

Hybrid.  Classically full-flavored, sweet but balanced, cherry tomato with late blight protection.  Vivid, deep red clusters.  High yields of uniform fruit, easy to harvest, and extremely vigorous.  Resistance to late blight.

Cherry Falls (container cherry)

Bred for hanging basket production.  Produces big yields of medium-size red cherry fruit from its cascading type plant. The red fruit are approximately 1-1/2" in diameter and have great sweetness and a pleasing flavor.

Cherry Princess Sweet Surprise (cherry)

Hybrid cherry with complex flavor.  Fruit are ¼ to 1/3 of an ounce. Indeterminate.  60 days.

Chocolate Cherry (cherry)

One-inch fruits.  Rich brick red with deep chocolate shading.  Perfect for salads.  Mid-season.

Chocolate Pear

70 days.  Gorgeous pear-shaped cherries are light red swirled with various shades of green and brown.  Fruits have a rich tomato flavor.  Consistent taste-test winner in trials.  Indeterminate.

Chocolate Stripes

Three-to-four inch mahogany-colored fruit with dark, olive green striping.  Delicious, complex flavors.  Excellent!

Cindy’s West Virginia

Big crop of 4" tomatoes with big, robust flavors.  Wonderful tomato!

Cipolla’s Pride (paste)

Impressive yields of 10-16 oz. fruits. Ideal for canning and sauces. Full flavor.

Climbing Triple Crop

Vigorous, 30-foot vines produce abundant quantities of very tasty, pink, slightly-flattened tomatoes.  Great for trellising.

Costoluto Genovese

Favored by generations of chefs in Italy and America for its flavors for wonderful, pungent, pasta sauce. Heat-loving.  Ribbed, 2” fruit.

Cuore di Bue

Oxheart-type Italian heirloom.  Fluted 12-oz. fruit.  Sweet taste for fresh eating or saucing.  Large vigorous vines.  Mid-season.

Crème Brulee

Six-eight oz. fruit.  Darkish red color, sometimes caramel-colored or rusty red with hints of chocolate or deep green. 80 days. These heirlooms are sweet, but also have a savory flavor.

Danka

20 oz., red tomatoes with delicious, well-balanced, complex flavor.

Dester

Large pink beefsteak variety.  One to 1.5 pounds.  Rich sweet flavor.  Excellent slicer.

Dr. Wyche’s Yellow

One of the "best tasting" yellow tomatoes to be found.  Its rich, sweet flavor sets this apart from other yellows.

Dwarf Almandine

Dwarf Tomato Project.  Dwarf tomato plant produces huge crop of 3-4" long, delicious paste tomatoes.

Dwarf Audrey’s Love

Dwarf Tomato Project.  3' plant yields BIG crop of mahogany-colored, delicious fruit with green striping.

Elfin (grape)

Vigorous short, plant that produces massive bunches of 3/4", grape-like tomatoes.  Extra flavorful, crisp for snacking.

Garden Peach

One of our favorite tomatoes. A peach color and peach fuzz outside. Good container tomato. Try this fresh in a salad.

Gardener's Delight (salad)

Heirloom.  This German large cherry tomato is so sweet it used to be called Sugar Lump.  Cherry-sized, red fruit borne in clusters of 6-12.

Geranium Kiss

 Deep green rugose leaves on dwarf, bushy plants.  Beautiful in a container on a patio or deck.  From 20-60 fruits, with 3-4 bunches per plant.  Range from 1-2 ounces with pointed ends.

German Johnson

Heirloom from North Carolina and Virginia.  Large, slightly ribbed pink-red tomatoes averaging 1 lb. Meaty with few seeds and really excellent flavor.  Mid-season.

German Lunchbox

Size of a small egg, vibrant pink, sugar sweet.  Perfectly sized for salads or putting in the lunchbox!

German Pink

Meaty beefsteak fruits have few seeds and little cracking.  Pink fruits grow to 1-2 pounds.  Potato leaf plants.

Giant Belgium

Dark pink, 2-pound fruit with delicious sweet flavor.  Good wine-making fruit. 

Giant Oxheart

Huge, 1-2 lb., meaty, rose-pink, heart-shaped tomatoes with thick walls and wonderfully sweet flavors.  A winner!

Giant Red Oxheart

Kentucky heirloom.  Amazing, delicious and beautiful.  Huge, 1-2 lbs., red, oxheart tomatoes with full flavors.

Gold Medal

1-1/2 lb., yellow and red bi-color beefsteak tomato.  Thin skin with sweet, well-balanced flavors.  Mid-season.

Great White

Sweet and fruity.  Low acidity and few seeds.  Good drought and crack tolerance.  Mid-season.

Green Tiger (Artisan series)

Elongated and green when ripe.  Darker green striping creates a distinctive appearance.  Greenish-yellow flesh color and bold, sweet, acidic flavor typical of green-when-ripe varieties.  Great in mixes with the other Artisan tomatoes.

Green Zebra (salad)

Bright green, with stripes of lighter green.  Round, smallish, 2 to 4 oz. salad fruits.  Determinate.  Mid-season.

Gregori’s Altai

Siberian heirloom produces 3-4", gorgeous dark-pink, fruit with a delicious, big-tasting sweetness.

Henderson’s Winsall

One of our favorites. AAS (All American Selection) winner.  Very popular due to its quality of sweetness, solidity and seedlessness.  Delicious!

Hillbilly

Ohio heirloom beefsteak originally from West Virginia. 1-2 lb. huge, heavily-ribbed, orange-yellow fruit with red mottled skin and red streaks within.  Very sweet, fruity flavors.  Low acid.  Late season.

Homer Fike’s Yellow Oxheart

A favorite for 100 years. Distinctively beautiful, 1-3 lb., yellow-gold, heart-shaped tomatoes.

Howard German (paste)

Pre-1900s heirloom variety.  Red, 3 to 9-oz., paste-type tomatoes. Shapes range from an elongated pear to ones that look like frying peppers. The flesh is dry, meaty and tasty. Excellent for sauce and paste.

Hugh’s

Heirloom beefsteak variety.  One to 2 pound, pale-yellow, thin-skinned (delicate).  Delicious!

Indigo Cream Berries (cherry)

A new and unique indigo tomato.  Lovely white cherry tomatoes splashed with purple on their shoulders. Large harvests of tomatoes, packed with a delicate but complex flavor.  Resistant to sunburn and cracking. Holds up well on the plant once ripened and even after picking.

Indigo Gold Berries (cherry)

Yellow-gold cherry tomatoes start out as amethyst purple before they ripen to a glowing golden with a hint of purple remaining at their tops.  Delicious sweet yet acid flavor.  Visually stunning.

Indigo Kumquat (cherry)

High-yielding plants produce 1 in. orange fruits with dark indigo-colored shoulders.  Very sweet flavor with a surprising, tart kick of acidity.  Compact indeterminate plant requires minimal pruning and yields well, even in unfavorable conditions.  Harvest when background color fills in uniformly orange and fruits begin to soften. Indigo color is derived from anthocyanin, a known antioxidant.

Jet Star

Big yields of large, red fruit, free of cracks and scars.  Globe-shaped.  Lower acid than most other reds. Sturdy, compact tomato vines grow vigorously, producing heavily.  Early.

Juliet (grape)

Sweet flavored fruits shaped like grapes.  Glossy red and very crack resistant.  Stay on the vine longer than other cherry tomatoes.  Mid-season.

Kellogg’s Breakfast

Pale-orange fruits.  Solid and meaty.  Long-season producer.  Beefsteak-type fruits, up to 16 oz., with solid centers.  Few seeds.  Mid-season.

Large Barred Boar

Flattened beefsteak fruit is pink-brown with metallic green stripes.  Weighs 8-12 ounces.  Pink flesh.

Legend

Early, 14-16 oz., tomatoes with delicious, balanced, sweet flavors.  

Lillian’s Yellow

Large, 10-16 oz., orange-yellow, thin-skinned heirloom tomatoes with mildly sweet, citrusy flavors.  A perfect salad tomato.

Linnie’s Oxheart

One of our best oxheart tomatoes.  Huge, 1-3 lb., heart-shaped tomatoes that are deliciously full of assertive flavors.

Lizzano (cherry)

Sweet, flavorful 1-inch fruit.  Extra long harvest window.  Semi-determinate plants thrive in the garden or in containers.

Lucky Tiger (Artisan series)

Elongated green-striped cherry tomato with a striking red blush.  Excellent sweet, tart flavor.  Mid-season.

Mammoth German Gold

Two-pound heirloom beefsteak.   Gold with red streaking. 

Mexico

Huge, dark pink fruit with outstanding taste.  Very large plants have an excellent set of huge, dark pink fruits with outstanding taste.  Steady, continuous production of tomatoes that weigh more than 1 lb. throughout the growing season.

Mortgage Lifter

Also known as Radiator Charlie.  Large, smooth, pink-skinned fruits.  Few seeds.  Mild, sweet flavor.  1-2 lb. tomatoes.  Mid-season.

Mr. Stripey

Beefsteak-type fruits.  Beautifully bi-colored, ranging from 14 ounces to three pounds each.  Yellow with marbled-red colored flesh.

Napa Chardonnay (cherry)

Very productive yellow cherry with a pearl essence to them.  Great looking with a very good flavor that is sweet rich.

New Zealand Pink Pear

Beautiful, pear-shaped, meaty tomato with few seeds.  Excellent sweet flavors.  Perfect for slicing or sauce making.

Old German

One of our favorite tomatoes.  1-2 lb., yellow tomato with red mottling.  Delicious, sweet fruity flavors.

Orange Banana (paste)

Unique, orange, banana-shaped paste tomatoes.  Perfect for drying, canning, and paste.  Delicious fresh. Determinate. Mid-season.

Orange Jazz

Outstanding flavor with just a hint of fresh peach sweetness.  Unique, orange beefsteak-type, 10 to 16 oz. fruits brushed with yellow stripes. Vigorous vines produce heavily.

Orange Oxheart

Sweet and juicy, heart-shaped fruit, ranging from 10 to 12 ounces.  Heavy producer.

Oregon Star (paste)

Large, red, paste tomato brags well-balanced flavors with few seeds.

Ozark Pink

Bred for hot, humid, disease-prone areas.  Uniform-ripening, 7 oz., firm tomato with good sugar/acid content.

Paul Robeson

Russian heirloom.   "Black" beefsteak.  Slightly flattened, round, grows to 4 inches.  Deep dark red, with dark green shoulders, and red flesh in its center.  Mid-season.

Pineapple

Interior of orange, gold and red.  Juicy and fruity sweet.  Mid-season.  A favorite.

Pink Jazz

Pretty pink fruits striped with golden-yellow stripes. Some fruits are oblate, beefsteak type. Some fruits are oxheart-shaped.  10-16 oz. fruit.  Sweet and juicy, with fruity notes. Good, quality production. Crack resistance. High yields.  Midseason. 

Pink Tiger (Artisan series)

Elongated pink tomato with yellow-orange striping. Excellent balanced sweet and acidic flavor. Great in mixes with the other Artisan varieties.

Pork Chop

True yellow fruit.  Starts off yellow with green stripes that ripen to gold. Medium sized, slightly flattened beefsteak. Hints of citrus.

Precious Pink  

Hybrid.  6-8 oz. pink tomatoes with old-fashioned flavor and juicy flesh.  Yield is impressive.

Principe Borghese (grape)

Italian heirloom.  Famous for sun drying.  Small 1-to 2-oz, grape-shaped fruit.  Very dry with few seeds. Wonderful for sauces.  Vines yield clusters of fruit in abundance.

Pruden’s Purple

Large to very large (many over 1 lb.) fruits are flattened and smooth (except for shoulder ribbing on some) and resist cracking.  Vivid dark-pink skin with crimson flesh.  Medium-tall, potato-leaf plants.

Red Pride

Hybrid.  Short, determinate plant.  Large flavorful slicing tomatoes with a striking red color. Strong, vigorous plants have a relatively late maturity, excellent leaf cover, and resistance to Alternaria, Fusarium Wilt, Verticillium, and Gray Leaf Spot.

Red Siberian

Great Russian heirloom.  Clusters of 4 oz., tomatoes with delicious flavors.  Perfect for cooler/shorter growing regions.

Riesentraube (cherry)

Favorite from 1800s Germany.  3/4", oval, cherry tomatoes in bunches of 20-35.  Exceptional flavor. Garden candy.

Rose

Rose pink, 3”, meaty tomato with delightful, complex flavors. 

Rutgers

Large red 8 oz. globes.  Strong yields and flavor, large vines.  Good for canning, also excellent fresh.  New Jersey heirloom.  Determinate.

San Marzano (paste)

Excellent flavor.  Large clusters of 2” fruit.  Extra-high solids for canning.  Rectangular in shape.  Mid-season.

San Marzano Lungo No. 2 (paste)

Newer selection of the famous Italian cooking tomato known as the San Marzano. Long, cylindrical fruit filled with thick, dry flesh and few seeds.  Plants get to 6 feet tall.  Number one choice for making paste.

Solar Flare

Six-10 ounce beefsteak.  Red with gold stripes.

Speckled (or Striped) Roman (paste)

Orange-red, 5” long fruits.  Speckled paste-type, marked by irregular yellow stripes.  Almost no seeds. Mid-season.

Striped German

Heirloom.  Up to 40-oz., bi-colored (yellow marbled with red), beefsteak-type fruit.

Stupice

Deep red, 2-3” tomatoes.  Prize winner for "Best-Tasting Tomato."

Summer Cider

Deep yellow, medium size fruit that is rich, creamy, sweet and balanced.  Fruits weigh about 6-12 oz. and sometimes more. Good disease resistance.  Great for yellow sauces, sandwiches and slicing.

Sungold (cherry)

Hands down favorite!  Disease.  Eat straight from the vine.  Prolific.  Mid-season.

Sunpeach Tomato

A sibling of the very popular ‘Sungold’, a little larger in size with a sweet, well-rounded flavor.  Reddish-pink fruit with a slightly oblong shape.  Crack resistant.  Early and notably productive until the end of the season.  Vigorous vines are highly resistant to mosaic virus.  A great choice for salsa. 

Sunrise Bumblebee (cherry)

Swirls of reds and oranges, inside the fruit and out.  Oblong.  Weighs barely an ounce.  Member of the Artisan series.

Super San Marzano (paste)

Improved variety of San Marzano.  5", paste tomato.  Splendid for making sauce and salsa.  Exceptional flavor.

Supersweet 100 (cherry)

Long strands of super sweet red tomatoes.  Extra high in Vitamin C.  Great in salads or right off the vine.  Mid-season.

Supremo (paste)

Extremely early cold-tolerant tomato.  Bears an abundance of 2 oz. flavorful, sweet tomatoes.

Sweet Charlotte

Perfect for a sandwich, in salads, or just sliced.  Attractive 8-10 oz. fruit, with wonderful flavor.

Sweetie (cherry)

Cherry-sized tomato.  Sweet-tasting.  Ideal for eating fresh, in salads, or straight off the vine.  Prolific.  Mid-season.

Thorburn’s Terra-Cotta

Heirloom.  Rich, sweet flavor.  Copper brown skin, pink flesh, and shimmering green innards.  Big producer in the early season.  One of the first slicing varieties to ripen in the field.

Vintage Wine

White Queen
